May 12, 2009 NPR had interview with Van Jones the Eco-activist and author of The Green Collar Economy: How One Solution Can Fix Our Two Biggest Problems who was recently appointed as President Obama's special adviser for green jobs, enterprise and innovation, or as he put it “Green job handyman”. He will be coordinating 40 billion dollar. In the interview he defines a green job as a Blue collar workers upgrading there skills to be Green, examples might be an electrician learning how to install solar cells or a plumber working on solar water heater. Mr. Jones goes on to talk about resolving conflict of current economics with the ecological future. Other parts of the interview discusses greening the ghetto, green job opportunities, “the green for your pocket”, innovation in the energy sector.
